Anchors

New York law requires that all power-driven vessels, except PWC, carry an anchor and line that have enough holding power to provide the vessel with safe anchorage.

Optional Equipment

In addition to the required equipment, also consider carrying these items on your vessel:

• Bilge pump or bailing device
• Boat hook
• Compass
• First-aid kit
• Marine radio
• Oar or paddle
• Spare parts
• Tool kit

Trailers

All trailers operated on New York public highways must be registered with the New York DMV and inspected.
