Operator Age and Education Requirements for Personal Watercraft
To operate a personal watercraft (PWC), the following restrictions apply.
- Persons under 16 years of age: No one under 16 years of age may operate a PWC.
- Persons 16 years of age and older: A person 16 years of age and older who was born after January 1, 1999, must complete a boater safety and education course. If the person was born before January 1, 1999, a boater safety and education course is not required.
