Registration Card on Board: Non-motorized vessels and sailboards are exempt from this requirement.
Fire Extinguisher(s)
Fire extinguishers are not required for outboard motorboats of open construction; however they are recommended for all motorboats.
Spare Propulsion		Required for vessels under 21 feet, recommended for others.	Recommended
Bailing Device
Sound Producing Device	Strongly recommended
Vessels 40 feet or longer must carry a bell in addition to a horn or whistle.
One PFD for Each Person on Board
Type IV PFD	Strongly recommended

Adequate Ventilation: Required for motorboats not of open construction and carrying flammable or toxic fluids in an enclosed compartment.

Capacity Plate Displayed			Manufacturer’s option
Capacity Plate Displayed: Required for vessels under 20 feet, manufacturer’s option for others. Vessels exempt from this requirement include: sailboats, canoes, kayaks, and inflatable vessels.
Hull Identification Number
