3. Take the enclosed test and mail in the test answer sheet along with the required
   certification fee. When you pass by scoring 80% or better, you will receive your official boating safety education certificate in the mail from Texas Parks and Wildlife. (Note that by law, you must be at least 13 years old to receive your Texas boating safety education certificate. Twelve year olds may take the Certification Exam, but they will not be mailed their boater certification card until their 13th birthday.)
