New Hampshire Boating Safety Course and Exam

Welcome to the official boating safety course developed for the New Hampshire Department of Safety.  By passing the online exam, you will be well-prepared to pass the proctored final exam that is required to fulfill your obligation under the law.

Live in another state, but boating in New Hampshire? You might be able to take your state's course. But, check with your state agency first, as New Hampshire only accepts boater education cards from another state if they are issued by the state agency responsible for boating education. For example, New Hampshire will accept the Ohio card or the Pennsylvania card for residents of those states, but NOT any Massachusetts card issued by an online exam provider.

Please be sure you are familiar with New Hampshire boater education law concerning age and education requirements for vessel operators of all ages.

How to Prepare for Your Proctored Exam

• Internet course—Study the official Boat New Hampshire course online, and at your own pace. When you're ready, take the New Hampshire online exam.
• Classroom courses —Boating class information is also available at the New Hampshire Department of Safety website.
